My Bio
My name is Emily, but if you're looking for my published work, you should Google E. Kristin Anderson. (Ask me and I'll tell you the why-I-need-a-pen-name story.) I live in Austin, TX and I write poetry (for everyone) and fiction (for young adults and children) and nonfiction (sometimes). I'm the co-editor of the nonfiction anthology DEAR TEEN ME (Zest Books, 2012) based on the website DearTeenMe.com, where authors write letters to their teen selves. I have four chapbooks of poetry out: A JAB OF DEEP URGENCY (Finishing Line Press), A GUIDE FOR THE PRACTICAL ABDUCTEE (Red Bird Chapbooks) PRAY, PRAY, PRAY: Poems I wrote to Prince in the middle of the night (Porkbelly Press), and 17 DAYS (ELJ Publications) and I have three chaps forthcoming in 2016. I'm a poetry editor at Found Poetry Review and I help out at NonBinary Review and Lucky Bastard Press. I blog at EKristinAnderson.com about books and writing and stuff. So I've been terrible about keeping up with the blogging and I could tell you all about my health and that stuff but that would be boring so I'm just going to get to the news.

First things first, I have a new chapbook out. FIRE IN THE SKY is a chapbook of three long poems built from scrambled and then erasured Lana Del Rey Lyrics. Each of the poem uses language from one of her first three albums. It's pretty fun to read from (I'll be reading from it at Malvern Books on July 22!) and hopefully y'all enjoy it as well. Hello readers! I'm so excited to finally be able to share some beautiful art with you. I have several books headed your way this spring (I'm exhausted and excited and exhausted and exhilarated and okay mostly freaking out with AWESOME about this).
